About Me

I am a currently a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in the lab of James DeGregori. I am majoring in Cell, Stem Cell, and Developmental Biology, but have been pursuing my doctorate in the Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics Department.

I came to Colorado from Cleveland, Ohio where I studied at Case Western Reserve University. I have my B.S.E. from CWRU in Biomedical Engineering with a focus in Tissue Engineering, and an M.S. in Biology from CWRU.

I have been working on better understanding the process of oncogenesis. My focus has been on understanding how mutations suffered by hematopoietic cells contribute to overall mutation burden, and working out why the incidence of mutations often appears insufficient to promote tumorigenesis.

These days, I spend my spare time running, losing chess games, and hanging out with that lady on the right.

FERMI

FERMI (Fast Extremely Rare Mutation Identification) is a set of tools designed for ultra rare variant detection within deep sequencing of UMI-tagged, amplicon captured genomic DNA.
